Please join me in welcoming author, Anita Philmar.

Anita, when did you know you wanted to be an author? Can you tell us a little bit about how you got there?

I believe I toyed with the idea when I was back in high school. My parents didn’t like the idea and wanted me to concentrate on jobs that would make enough money to support myself. I put my dreams on a shelf and rediscover the joy of telling stories when my children were born, but still I delayed until I was given, the time to fully explore the craft. Now, it’s my full time job.

Your website says you like to create stories that "push the limit."
Elaborate for us on what you mean by that, what counts as pushing the limit?

I like to write stories about place that I see in my head. I want to share them with my readers. My characters are push to change and to see their world in a total new way.

You call yourself a writer by day and a dreamer by night. I get a lot of my own stories from a rich dream life. How much does your dreaming influence or come in to play on your writing?

Dreams can write the story for you if you’ll let them. I try to plot out scenes when I’m trying to sleep and sometime if I’m really lucky my dreams will do most of the work for me.

Dreams also give me new ideas and creative alternatives for my characters.

Okay, you mention sci-fi programs, tell us which is your all time favorite?

Star Gate 1. I have watched the show for years and enjoy the characters and their different adventures into fun places.

Traveling is one of my passions, and I’d love a star gate to take me long distances in the blink of an eye.

You've written two trilogies. Tell us which book in a trilogy is the most challenging to write? Which is your favorite? Why?

I feel the middle book is the most challenging because it’s the bridge between the first and last but it still needs to give readers everything that they are looking for in a good read.

My favorite book is the first one because I’m excited about the series and it lays the groundwork for the next two.

You write what I call "things that make me blush." :-) Have you ever had any difficulty with the erotic scenes, or do you find it easy/natural to write? Any suggestions for someone looking to write erotica?

Erotic scenes can be just as difficult to write as any. There is a flow I want that can come easy at time and hard at others. The best suggestion for writing an erotic scene is to read some. I look at scenes from other writers and judge what the characters are doing when, how, for how long, what made the scene exciting. All of these things help me decide how I want to structure my scene.

Are your favorite characters naughty or nice?

Both

Can you share your favorite wine? chocolate? dangerous man?

I like white wine best. All chocolate but Lindor’s Truffles are my all time favorite. Dangerous man – Bond, James Bond.

Do you have any advice or cautions for the aspiring author?

Study the craft of writing and know the rules of what an editor is looking for before you send them a query.

The last book in the Banished Series, Banished Witch tells the story of the oldest sister, the one who lead the other two sisters from (Banished Hero and Banished Scoundrel) into the human world. She carries the burden seriously and only wants to protect her family from any more harm.
